I struggled with this piece for some time. This mixed media drawing originally started as a rather bleak landscape, and I found myself torn between focusing solely on that or incorporating the human figure. I often find myself in this situation as a piece develops, and I’ve ruined or abandoned many projects by not finding that balance. I am happy with how this turned out though and glad I tried to push it a little further.
